St Clare\u2019s Oxford was founded by Anne Dreydel OBE and Pamela Morris in 1953. The college grew out of a willingness to rebuild links between British and European students after the Second World War. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within the mid-1950s, students came from more than 12 Western European countries. Over time, through our strong reputation and the influence of word-of-mouth, this extended across the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nowadays, we consistently attract students from over 40 countries every year and remain as faithful to our mission, as we did when the college was first established. Our mission focusses on \u201cadvancing international education and understanding\u201d.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Education<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

St Clare’s Oxford is different from other summer schools with guest interviews with leading figures of science, education or art, academic visits to world-renowned colleges, museums and art galleries of Oxford University called \u201cstudy visits\u201d, and weekly themed project classes. In addition to the classroom environment, it carries language education to art workshops, computer software classrooms, libraries and laboratories on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accommodation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Students stay on a full board basis in 1-3 person rooms. Showers and toilets are in the rooms. Boys and girls stay in different buildings. The dormitories are a five-minute walk from the school. Students can receive social assistance support 24 hours a day. A teacher responsible for students is accommodated in each residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Activities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During their stay, students will have the chance to explore different cities in the UK such as London, Cambridge and Shakespeare’s birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon. There are trips to West End theater performances, Bath and theme parks, as well as football stadiums, museums, art galleries, Oxford colleges and more. Activities include jewellery design, karaoke, punting, treasure hunts, inflatable bungee run, glass painting, traditional English tea party, t-shirt design and much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
